US - The land of Dreams !!

This was my chance to visit the States and my bonvoyage :) Vijesh and myself were to fly together which meant more fun and adventure to come ;). Mallika, her parents and Vijesh's wife, parents accompanied us to the Airport to bid farewell with their best wishes.

We boarded the flight at 6.15pm from Bengaluru International airport via Kingfisher Airport. After doing the tata bye-bye routines to our loved ones, we checked-in, sipped in cold coffee with Garlic Bread Exotica. The Airbus A320 for Kingfisher was a smaller flight, cramped space and other co-passengers were keeping the luggage to remind us we have still not left the Indian train. Dumping bags on each other.

We drank white wine, though there were other options like vodka, whiskey and later took my veg dinner. Veg dinner was a Single roti, with some rice and veg balls, dessert was Custard with Gulab jamun. Vijesh took the non-veg version with chicken pieces. All in on all Kingfisher flight is boring flight with no entertainment, air hostess were ok looking. The best part of the flight was cleanliness and efficient service.

The view from the top before reaching Dubai looked like a microprocessor board. The long highways with Street lights looked like Christmas light and the view was worth watching. I think this was Sharjah and we crossed the sea to reach Dubai. We reached Dubai on 10.15 pm IST and the airport is huge and massive. It had horizontal escalators and electronic emotion tissue paper in the loo. We finally settled in one portion of the airport and started surfing the net. We saved money by talking to our wives using Gtalk. Gtalk ki jai ho :)

We managed to do a video chat on gtalk and thanks to Vijesh for doing the quick connect on this. We showed our wives the glimpse of dubai airport as seen by us. After doing this, we left to explore this huge and stunning airport, did some window shopping and my hunger pangs stuck me ;)

Vijesh got to know from his sister that Khubus is a local and popular dish and we shouldn't miss this, hence we checked at a couple of eateries on the airport and found one place which served this dish. This dish was like humus with pitta bread which i am used but for vijesh this one was new. It costed us close to 4.7$ and we did a smart thing by ordering just one. At the end, both of us were looking at each other to find out who will finish the dish. Each of us gave their explanation to the dish... here is my version... "Dosa which was not cooked well with a chutney which lacked any spices. Vijesh felt this one looked like his wife's first time hand at cooking dosa and we moved on to explore the Dubai terminal.

It had lots of Perfume stores, huge electronic section, Wine drinkers paradise. It had people flocking from all cultures. The best attraction was the Jaguar and Maybachs ready to be clicked by every passer-by, these cars were meant to be given for the lucky ones at the Dubai Shopping festival.

We ended our day at dubai airport by enjoying a quick meal at McDonald's, I had the Mcflurry while Vijesh had the Orange juice.
